Which Animation Format Do I Need?
Choose the MoCap Online format that matches the software or engine where you will use the animations.
Quick format map
- Unreal Engine 4 or 5: use the Unreal Engine format.
- Unity 2019 or newer: use the Unity format.
- Blender 2.8 or newer: use the Blender format.
- 3ds Max with Biped or Character Studio: use BIP.
- Reallusion iClone 7 or newer: use iClone.
- Maya, MotionBuilder, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Godot, Daz, or most other tools: use FBX.
If you are not sure
FBX is the broadest general-purpose format and works with most skeletal-animation workflows. If your software does not have a native MoCap Online format, FBX is usually the safest starting point.
