What Is Included in the Free Pack
Every free download from MoCap Online is a genuine sample of our professional library - not a stripped-down demo. The animations are captured by trained performers in a real optical motion capture studio, cleaned by our technical team, and exported in the same formats sold in our paid packs. You get the identical quality, just a smaller selection of clips.
The Sampler Pack includes clips from multiple animation categories - locomotion, idle, and combat - so you can test retargeting, blending, and in-engine performance across a realistic range of motion types before committing to a full pack.
Formats Included - and Why Each Matters
MoCap Online packs ship in six formats so your team can work in whichever tool you use. Each format is a first-class export - not a conversion from another:
- FBX - The industry-standard interchange format. Works in Unreal Engine, Unity, Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, and more. If you only download one format, download FBX.
- BIP - Native Biped format for 3ds Max users. No retargeting required; drop straight onto a Biped rig.
- Unreal Engine - Pre-configured assets ready to import into UE5 (and UE4). Skeleton, animations, and naming conventions aligned for Unreal workflows.
- Unity - Packaged for Unity's Humanoid rig system. Avatar mapping is pre-set for instant use in Animator controllers.
- Blender - Exported and tested in Blender. Compatible with Blender's Action editor and NLA workflows for game asset prep.
- iClone - Ready for Reallusion iClone character animation pipelines. Works with iClone's motion library system out of the box.
Why MoCap Online Offers a Free Pack
Motion capture quality is impossible to judge from screenshots alone. The feel of a walk cycle, the snap of a combat hit, the subtlety of an idle - you need to retarget and see it move on your own rig. We give away a real pack so developers can run that test before spending anything.
Motus Digital has been producing professional mocap since 2007. We are confident that once you run the free pack through your pipeline, you will see the difference between studio-captured animation and keyframed or AI-generated alternatives. If you are new to motion capture technology, our what is motion capture guide covers the complete pipeline from optical suit to finished animation asset.

Browse Animation LibraryHow to Upgrade from the Free Pack to a Full Animation Library
Once you have tested the free pack in your pipeline and confirmed the quality meets your project's needs, upgrading is straightforward. MoCap Online's library is organized into Starter, Basic, and Pro tiers for every animation category. The Starter packs are a cost-effective entry point that gives you a focused set of clips - typically 30 to 60 animations - covering the most common use cases for a given character type.
All MoCap Online packs are upgrade-priced: if you buy Starter today and want to move to Basic later, you pay only the difference. You never lose money by starting small. Every pack ships in the same six formats as the free sample - FBX, BIP, Unreal Engine, Unity, Blender, and iClone - so there are no compatibility surprises when you expand your library.
The Starter packs are an ideal place to begin if you are working on a prototype, a solo project, or a game jam where budget is tight but quality cannot be compromised. Professional motion capture at a starter price point means your characters move convincingly from day one, without placeholder animation that needs replacing at launch.
Ready to Upgrade? Start with a Starter Pack
Our Starter packs give you professional studio-captured motion capture at an entry-level price. Upgrade to Basic or Pro anytime - you only pay the difference.

Frequently Asked Questions - Free MoCap Animations
Can I use the free animations in a commercial game or project?
Yes. The free packs from MoCap Online are released under our Standard License, which permits use in commercial projects - including games, films, architectural visualizations, and simulations. There is no revenue cap for the free downloads. If your project generates revenue above the Standard License threshold, a Commercial License upgrade is available.
Do I need to create an account to download the free animations?
You will need to complete a checkout on the store, but no credit card is required - the free packs are priced at $0.00. Creating a store account is optional and gives you access to your order history and download links through the customer portal. Downloads are delivered immediately via a secure link after checkout.
Are the free animations the same quality as the paid packs?
Yes - identical quality, smaller selection. The free animations are captured in the same optical mocap studio, cleaned by the same technical team, and exported in the same six formats as the paid library. They are not degraded, watermarked, or restricted in any way. The only difference is the number of clips included. We offer them freely so you can evaluate quality in your own pipeline before purchasing a full pack.
